Change Makers project now underway in Donegal

A new project with the aim of raising adult awareness of  how local issues are linked to global issues and to explore how we are all interconnected.  The Development education project is funded by Irish Aid is a pilot project that will inform the development of the overall strategy for Development Education for the adult and community education sector.  There are three partnerorganisationsThere are a number strands to the project:

Development and delivery of a capacity building training programme for art and literacy tutors within the VEC

  • Development and delivery of a FETAC level 6 Development Education module
  • Staff awareness training for two of the three partner organiations (IDP and Donegal VEC)
  • Establishment of a county wide Development Education network
  • Organisation of a number of Development Education Public Events
  • General awareness raising of Development Education across the county

Interschool Development Education Network

Inishowen Development Partnership supported the set-up of an Interschool Development Education Network which links the 5 second level schools and 2 Youthreach centres together.  The students look at issues in the developing world and also link with and learn from African countries they have created links with through the programme. The network has also participated in the One Donegal events. For more information see:
