IRDL was set up to support, initiate and facilitate strategies from and for the Inishowen community, in Partnership with others, to address rural deprivation and exclusion in our society at all levels and in all of its manifestations.

The primary focus of the company is the administration of the LEADER Programme in the Inishowen area, but, as the programme has progressed, the skills base and expertise at IRDL has grown significantly and the company now embraces a much broader remit than this; operating as a 'one-stop shop' for the whole gamut of local development issues.
